Can You Handle It?

As you look at the things you have to do this week, are there things that are too big that you can’t handle? Have you ever heard the saying, “God will not give you more than you can handle”? This is a saying that has been going around among believers for quite some time. I once believed that saying up until God gave me more than I could handle. Unfortunately, this saying is a Bible verse that is taken out of context (1 Corinthians 10:13 is actually talking about temptation). However, Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” God has intentionally given me more than I can handle. He does that because He wants me to rely on His strength and not my own strength. The only way I can rely on His strength is if I am in a close relationship with Him. And the only way I can be in a close relationship with Him is when I am constantly in His Word and in prayer with Him. If you are distant from God, now is the time to begin growing close with Him again! As we begin this week, may we rely on God’s endless strength as we grow closer to Him!
